“Remember the past, but move forward.” Combat aviator, Rick Hartnack, returns to North Vietnam 40 yrs later to meet those he fought against.
Inspired by fleets of jets taking off from his local airport and Word War II war stories from his neighbors, Rick Hartnack was inspired to pursue aviation in his later years. He joined the USMC, commissioned as an officer, and learned the backseat duties (Radar Intercept Officer, RIO) of flying an F-4 Phantom. Stationed in Vietnam he flew 220 missions, supporting missions all over Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
This is forgiveness and healing we can learn from. Thank you, Mr. Hartnack, for your service to our country and God bless you.
